The Irons announced today that they have signed defender/forward Ibrahim Kante. His rights were acquired from the Milwaukee Wave for the Irons' first two '08 College draft picks Jacek Przednowek and Tracis McKenzie, as well as future considerations. He'll be joining the team tomorrow night as they take on the Baltimore Blast (12-7).
Kante is a Malian International (if you can count one cap,not sure if he played anymore). In 2003 he made two appearances for the New England Revolution (MLS), before making his move to the MISL. Between 2005 and 2006 he made 56 appearances for the Baltimore Blast, knocking in 23 goals. Last year he made 12 appearances for Crystal Palace Baltimore of the USL2. This doesn't come as a shock with the Ironmen's relationship with Crystal Palace Baltimore players.
His experience in the MISL should help secure the Irons back line a little better. After all, that is one of the teams biggest issues as of late.
So welcome to the team Ibrahim. Let's start pulling some wins together.
